==> 3 --- <== You’ve been sitting here for a while now, you realize, just staring at the dark screen on the wall across from you. Where did you go? Hmm. Maybe you should read a book. No. Too much work. Instead you turn on the screen and fill the room with blue light. Perfect. It’s Office Space: 1999. That one where the moon goes through a wormhole and splits into two timelines. In one, everything is normal and in the other Jim has a crush on Dwight and Pam is the commander. It reminds you of that dream you’ve had where you’re an embryo floating in space and you split in half—the two versions of you side-by-side. You can see the other you growing as you get closer and closer to the Earth. But then the Moon comes into view and begins to pull you apart. Soon they’re so far away they just look like a star headed for the Moon and then disappearing as you come down though the clouds and gently land on a beach. You look up at the ghostly crescent hanging in the morning sky and wonder if you’ll ever meet the other you. “I can make that happen,” says Pam. Wait. You realize that the show has stopped. Pam, with laser in hand, is looking at you expentantly while Jim and Dwight are frozen in mid-conversation behind her. --- [[Back->02]] [[Next->04]]
